What is the Owls Head Transportation Museum?

Founded in 1974, the museum is not just a place where you can learn about the history of transportation and see antique vehicles that have been restored to perfection. Special events are set up throughout each year so the public can see some of the early planes, automobiles and even bikes in action!

Annual Owls Head Transportation Museum Events

There are several events held throughout the year at the museum, including these upcoming events you won’t want to miss.

Wings and Wheels Spectacular 

As the name suggests, this annual two-day event held each August includes a spectacular array of antique and aircraft belonging to Owls Head Transportation Museum, as well as guest vehicles and aircraft. Held rain or shine, you can check out an assortment of classic, vintage and antique vehicles, as well as see aerobatic performances, demonstrations and much more.

Barnstormers Ball  

Put on your finest 1920s evening wear and take part in the museum’s annual fundraising event that will make you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time. Held in August at the museum, the event offers guests the chance to enjoy music, food and entertainment inspired by the 1920s, as well as support the museum’s efforts. You can be certain you’ll be able to view some of the museum’s collection of 1920s aircraft and ground vehicles during the Barnstormers Ball.

Vintage Motorcycle Meet

If you love motorcyles, you’ll want to keep this event in mind as you plan your visit to Camden, Maine. Hundreds of antique motorcycles from all over New England will be featured at this event, including classic, vintage and antique Triumph, Harley Davidson, Indian, Ducati and other well-known brands, as well as obscure antique bikes from all over the world.

Foreign Auto Festival 

Each September, the Owls Head Transportation Museum holds a two-day event featuring the finest vintage vehicles from around the world. View hundreds of carefully restored vehicles, demonstrations from the museum’s collection and free Model T rides (weather permitting).
