“Bay Chamber Concerts is pleased to announce the exciting, eclectic, 2011-2012 Performing Arts Series! The Performing Arts Series, now in its twenty-sixth year, will be offering a variety of musical genres including rock, classical, Irish, Broadway hits, and more! This year’s lineup concludes with a very special concert which will mark Thomas Wolf’s retirement after a half century as Artistic Director. The gala program, entitled “Music Among Friends,” will feature Wolf himself, along with world class chamber artists.

Tickets to most of the events in the Performing Arts Series are $30/$40 for adults, $8 for youth ages 18 and under. Discounts are available for subscribers and groups of 8 or more. Avoid ticket fees by purchasing online, coming to our Box Office at 18 Central Street in Rockport, or by subscribing.

The Farnsworth Art Museum offers an unparalleled opportunity to enjoy a comprehensive collection of American art related to Maine. With 20,000 square feet of gallery space and over 10,000 works in the collection, there is always something new on view at the Farnsworth. In addition to an extensive collection of work by three generations of Wyeths, the museum houses the nation’s second-largest collection of works by premier 20th-century sculptor Louise Nevelson. There is often contemporary work on display by such Maine luminaries as Robert Indiana, Alex Katz, and Kenneth Noland. Spend a few hours at the museum and then be sure to help yourself to coffee at Atlantic Baking Company or Rock City Books & Coffee (hint, both have yummy pastries good for dunking in coffee).

Anne-Marie McDermott Saturday, March 29, 2008 2:30 PM Rockport Opera House McDermott is the 1995 winner of the Andrew Wolf Chamber Music Award, and is a regular with the Lincoln Center Chamber Music Society. Since winning the Wolf Award, she’s gone on to perform at some of the most prestigious venues around the world. Her program will include a Haydn sonata, Bach’s Chaconne and Schubert’s great last piano sonata.
