The North Atlantic Blues Festival is an incredible two-day event held each July in Rockland, Maine. The festival features an array of national blues performers and is held at a venue that overlooks beautiful Rockland Harbor. When you attend the festival, you can expect to enjoy two full days of live music on the main stage, as well as a Club Crawl Saturday night, and a plethora of food, beverage and craft vendors set up on Main Street.

The 2015 North Atlantic Blues Festival will be held July 11-12. A stage will be set up in The Public Landing on Main Street where ticket holders will be able to set up a chair or beach blanket to sit back, relax and enjoy the music. Four decades into a stellar career, folk singer/songwriter JONATHAN EDWARDS delivers songs of passion, insight, and humor with his pure and powerful tenor. EDWARDS has released 15 albums, including the bluegrass “Blue Ridge,” and his collection of children’s songs, “Little Hands.” Folk singer/songwriter CHERYL WHEELER is a natural storyteller with a beautiful voice; though her songs are often emotional portraits of people, her live concerts also include comic routines and serious discussions. A gifted writer, WHEELER’S songs have been covered by artists as diverse as Dan Seals, Peter Paul and Mary, Kenny Loggins, Garth Brooks, Suzy Boggus, Melanie, Bette Midler, Maura O’Connell, Sylvia, Kathy Mattea, and Holly Near. WHEELER has released 13 albums since 1986.

The Strand Theatre in Rockland is Great for Live Music

The North Atlantic Blues Festival is an annual two-day blues music festival featuring national blues performers and considered one of the most prestigious on the East Coast. The festival is held at the Public Landing in Rockland, Maine, overlooking the picturesque Rockland Harbor. Some of the top names in blues music have been featured at this prestigious East Coast festival. In addition to all day live entertainment, the festival has vendors selling a wide array of food, drinks and crafts.  Saturday evening Main Street is closed to traffic for the NABF Club Crawl. Attendees of legal age, wearing their wristband from the festival are allowed free admission to the many bars and restaurants featuring many of the top regional blues performers. There are also bands performing on Main Street for all ages at no charge.

The Broadway play won a Tony Award and was nominated for a total of five Tony awards.
