2013 Pastry Classes at Sweet Sensations Pastry Shop

Many of our guests not only love to cook, but to bake too.  We do not offer pastry classes here at the Hartstone Inn but Sweet Sensations Pastry Shop does and it is only 10 minutes away!  Plan an overnight or a weekend getaway with us and take a class while you are here.  Steve, one of the owners of Sweet Sensations has been featured on the Food Network television show Food Network Challenge where he made amazing cakes!

2013 Class Schedule

January 6th – Fun with Cupcakes:  Learn to make cupcakes and decorate them with buttercream flowers.

January 13th – Pate choux: Learn to make eclairs, cream puffs, mice, swans & fillings.

February 3rd – Sugar Cookies: Make and decorate your own cookies. Over 500 cutters to choose from. Each person will get to make at least 15 cookies! *Bring a rolling pin!

February 10th – Chocolate Mousse Cake:  Make and bake a chocolate cake and fill/frost it with chocolate mousse. Fun chocolate decorations will be made to decorate your cake! Just in time for valentines day!

March 3rd – Fun with Pies: Cream pie, chiffon, meringue, lattice, custard, 2 crust and different pie shell options. Along with quiche ideas. *Bring a rolling pin!

March 10th – Rolled Fondant: Learn to cover a cake with this edible clay. You’ll be shown different techniques. (All the cakes Steve created on the food network challenges were covered in fondant) *Bring a rolling pin!

April 7th – Basic Cake Decorating: Learn to put buttercream on a cake like a professional and decorate with different ideas shown in class. Additional $15.00 charge for take home pastry bags and tips.

April 14th – Pizza: Learn to make pizza dough & sauces with lots of topping ideas.

Additional information from their website:

“All classes are limited to 10 people. With a minimum of 7 people. No children under 12. All classes are hands on! Classes are $40 per person. All classes are on Sundays and start at 3PM. Classes last approximately 2-3 hours. Bring your own rolling pin and apron for the appropriate classes! a $20 cash non-refundable deposit (unless class is canceled or rescheduled) Remaining balance will be collected at the beginning of the class. “
