The annual Maine Wild Blueberry Festival in Machias features two fun days of entertainment, contests, shopping and of course blueberries! Held each August, the festival offers locals and visitors alike the chance to celebrate the little berry that some say helped put Maine on the map. After all, even though Maine is one of the nation’s smallest states, it still produces more blueberries than any other state. More than 90% of the nation’s blueberry crop comes from Maine.
